I love Mia's Bakery! I'm not really a sweets person, but this is the only place where I can order a Brooklyn Blackout slice and actually enjoy it. In fact, it's the only place I'll take a chance on ordering chocolate cake. I'm not a huge chocolate fan, but something about this cake keeps me coming back, it's moist, rich, and has an intense chocolatey flavor without being overpowering. I've always been a Junior's strawberry cheesecake lover, but the cheesecakes at Mia's definitely don't disappoint either. Every time I'm in the area, I make sure to stop in for a slice of Brooklyn Blackout cake and either strawberry or cherry cheesecake. I've even gone out of my way just to "coincidentally" drive by Mia's and grab my sweets! I've also tried the Chocolate Layer Cake, Red Velvet and Carrot Cupcakes, and a few pastries, but I tend to stick with my favorites, if it ain't broken, don't fix it! I've never sat inside to enjoy my desserts, but they do have a nice seating area. Ordering is always quick and efficient, I'm usually in and out within three minutes. I visit both the Times Square and Brooklyn locations, and have never had any complaints, but I will say the Brooklyn location is my preferred bakery!
I had an absolutely wonderful experience at Mia’s Brooklyn Bakery. Their cheesecakes are seriously incredible — the rich, velvety New York‑style cheesecake was a highlight. On top of the amazing desserts, our server was a delight: warm, attentive, and really made the visit feel special. We got lucky and they sat our large party even though we arrived shortly before closing. That was such a generous touch, and it made the evening feel relaxed and welcoming. The dessert selection overall was fantastic — everything tasted fresh and delicious. I highly recommend Mia’s Brooklyn Bakery to anyone looking for a classic, high‑quality bakery experience with top-tier cheesecakes and a friendly, laid‑back atmosphere.
Mia’s Bakery is hands down one of the best bakeries in Brooklyn. Everything here is consistently delicious, from the cakes to the individual dessert slices. I ordered a custom Grinch cake for my holiday Christmas party and it was a huge hit — not only was it adorable, but it tasted amazing too. Super moist, flavorful, and not overly sweet.
Mia’s bakery was amazing they were able to take my last minute order and they executed on the design of the cake. The taste and look of the cake was the talk of the night. If you are looking for a tasty dessert custom cake for your next event you should definitely go with Mia’s Bakery, I will using them for future events!
While walking we suddenly craved something sweet, so we ducked in. Lucky we did-ate a killer carrot cake and cupcakes, seriously amazing. Coffee was solid too. Tell everyone to hit this bakery; the display case is insane with every pastry imaginable. Wanted to devour it all, maybe next time.
Mia’s was PACKED with a giant line right before our big snow storm, which should tell you something about how locals feel about the necessity of getting Mia’s before we expect the city to shut down. Mia’s is a beloved local establishment in downtown BK, but they also have locations on the UES and Times Square. Aesthetically, this is a super cute spot where you can grab your goodies to-go from a super cute 1950s style dessert counter, or you can stay and eat your sweets at their tables with a delicious hot drink (which you can also get to-go; their coffee is really good!). While I didn’t think this is an old establishment, they clearly have a grasp on all the NY dessert classics. You want Italian butter cookies? You can buy them by the pound. Classic diner array of cake slices? Done. Cupcakes? Brownies? A beautiful little display of colorful macarons? Flaky croissants? Cannolis? Got them all. I personally think their Italian rainbow cookies are a testament to their quality. I have had some truly terrible rainbow cookies: I think most New Yorkers know that a rainbow cookie CAN be good, but it’s usually a disappointing and dry experience. The rainbow cookie at Mia’s is the best I’ve ever had, hands down. It is MOIST and you can actually taste the often indiscernible jam between the cake layers. And it is a flavorful, bright jam! I think it’s the same jam in their Linzer Torte cookies, which is also delish. Shoutout as well to the soft almond cookies, lobster tails (vanilla is my preference) and Brooklyn blackout cake.
We tried about 5 different bakeries for our wedding cake and chose Mia’s for their quality/taste above everything plus their ability to do exactly what we hoped for, responsiveness and price. We selected coconut and lemon blueberry flavors for our two-tier cake. We loved it and so did our guests. Mariam was especially great to work with and the cake came out perfectly and was delivered right on time. Highly recommend for their special custom cakes as well as the rest of their delicious everyday treats! Thank you, Mia’s!
